Booking 2026 to 2027 contracts
We walk your lot, then put the number in writing. Call (902) 221-4582.
A GMC Sierra HD with a stainless steel V-plow, twin LED plow lights and amber strobe beacons, plus a hopper salt spreader in the bed for de-icing lots, walkways and entrances. A V-plow earns its keep on a commercial site because it can scoop, angle and windrow, which is how you clear a lot without burying the parking stalls or blocking the fire lane.
Snow pricing
Quoted by your lot, not by a price list
Commercial contracts are quoted on lot size, surface, access and how often you need us through a storm. We walk the site before we quote, so the number holds all winter.
Property managers and plazas
Retail plazas, apartment buildings, multi-unit residential and HOA contracts. Clear access before your tenants are up.
Licensed and insured
Doucet is fully licensed and insured for commercial snow work. One crew, one point of contact, and the same people on your lot every storm.
24/7 storm response
Out within hours of the storm starting and back through after it ends so access stays safe.

Do you plow shopping plazas and retail lots?
Yes. Retail plazas are one of the sites we are built for, because the lot has to be open and safe before the first customer pulls in and the stalls cannot be buried. We clear the lot, the entrances and the walkways, then salt.
Where does the snow go when the banks fill in?
We stack it on site where there is room, and we move it off site when there is not. Running out of space mid winter is what costs plazas their parking stalls, so we plan the stacking areas when we quote the lot rather than in February.
Do you take on property management portfolios?
Yes. Multiple buildings under one contract and one point of contact, which is usually the reason managers call us in the first place. The same crew is on every site, so you are not chasing three subcontractors at 4am.
Plenty of our winter customers started with us in the summer. The same crew that clears your driveway also handles your landscaping in Halifax, from sod and garden beds to full yard builds, and our full-season property maintenance keeps the mowing, edging, and cleanups covered spring through fall. Bundle summer and winter and it is one contractor, one number, all year.

Is salting billed separately on a commercial contract?
It can go either way and most commercial sites bundle it. Bulk and bagged salt across lots, walkways, entrances and loading areas, pre-treated ahead of a storm and de-iced after it. We put the rate in the contract so it is not a surprise line on a February invoice.
Are you booking commercial contracts for this winter?
Yes, for the 2026 to 2027 season. Commercial lots need a site walk before we can quote, so call early rather than after the first storm.

Commercial Snow Removal FAQ
What does commercial snow removal cost in Halifax?
Every commercial lot is quoted on its own. The price comes down to the size of the lot, the surface, how tight the access is, where the snow can be stacked, and how often you need us through a storm. We walk the site before we put a number on it, so the quote holds all winter instead of moving after the first big storm. Seasonal commercial contracts run November through April. Send us the address and we will come look at it.
When do you plow during a storm?
We are out within hours of the storm starting and back through after it ends. On a commercial site that usually means a pass to keep the lot usable while the snow is still falling, then a full clean up once it stops so the stalls, the entrances and the fire lane are clear. We run 24/7 through a storm, and a seasonal contract includes the visits it takes rather than a capped number of pushes.
When should I book my commercial snow contract?
Book by October to lock in a spot for the season. November bookings are taken on a space available basis. After the first snowfall we are usually at capacity, and that is what catches most property managers out. A commercial site also takes longer to quote than a driveway because we need to walk it first, so the earlier you call, the better.
How do I compare commercial snow removal contracts?
Read past the hourly rate. The questions worth asking are what actually triggers a visit, whether salting is included or billed on top, what happens during a multi day storm, where the snow gets stacked once the banks fill in, and whether the contractor carries insurance and WCB coverage you can see. A cheap per push rate can cost more over a full season than a seasonal contract that covers every storm. Ask for the season in writing, not a rate card.
Is salting and de-icing included?
It can be bundled into the contract or quoted separately, and most commercial properties bundle it. We run bulk and bagged salt across lots, walkways and entrances, with pre-treatment ahead of a storm and de-icing after it. Rate matters more than volume. Too little and the lot glazes over, too much and you are paying to damage your own asphalt and landscaping.
What areas do you serve for commercial snow removal?
Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford, Sackville, Tantallon, Hammonds Plains, Chester, Hubbards, Cole Harbour, Lawrencetown and the surrounding HRM. If your site sits near the edge of that list, call and ask. We would rather tell you straight than take on a contract we cannot service properly in the middle of a storm.
What happens if the storm lasts several days?
Multi day storms are covered under your seasonal contract at no extra charge. We make passes through the storm as needed so the lot stays usable and the entrances stay open, then do a full clean up at the end of it. That is the whole point of a seasonal contract. You are not sitting there deciding whether you can afford to call us out again.
Do you clear walkways, stairs and entrances?
Yes. Walkways, stairs, entrances, loading areas and the tight spots a plow cannot reach are hand shovelled and then salted. On apartment and condo sites this is usually the part that matters most, because it is where people slip and where your liability actually sits.
Are you licensed and insured for commercial snow work?
Yes. Doucet is fully licensed and insured with WCB coverage. Proof of insurance and liability coverage is available on request before you sign anything, and most property managers ask for it. One crew, one point of contact, and the same people on your site every storm.
